(i)                  ‘Can’ is Noun and Verb.

Synonyms:
A container, to preserve, to punish with cane, third-person singular simple present

Sentences:
1.  Can he finish the job in one hour?
2.  Can I have your pen, please?
3.  Can Millie go now?
4.  Do the best you can.
5.  Julie bought a can of raspberry jam.
6.  Millie can use my mobile.

(ii)                ‘Could’ is Verb.

Able to, simple past tense of can, used to suggest something
